Excursions in Sykia
The Sykias Village has to offer you many places worth visiting and lots attractions to enjoy.
On a walk through the stone paved streets of the village to see the houses with their particular architecture and friendly inhabitants, a walk through the lane around the Sykia, up to a dash of the unique beaches and surrounding coastline.
A visit to the old elementary school that was built in 1870 entirely of granite with large pillars and columns at the entrance.
You will find it very easily because it is located in the central hill of the village and imposingly above the Sykia.
Behind the hill the municipal school is built the church of St. Athanasius, the patron saint of the village.
Built in 1814 with a famous wooden temple and shrines woodwork, Agios Athanasios is one of the most beautiful temples.
